Many Scientists Oppose Fluoridationwater fluoridation

There is good science behind the opposition to water fluoridation. There is also good science behind the consumer demand for fluoride free toothpaste. The opposition to fluoridation is not new; it goes back 60 years and has persisted and continued to be driven by citizens, scientists, doctors and 14 Nobel Prize recipients to date.

Medicating Individuals Without Their Consent

They will tell you that fluoride prevents cavities. So they are treating it like a  preventative medication and they are administering it like a mass delivered prescription – in your water. A prescription administered in the same dose to everyone – young and old – frail or healthy. They want you to get this ‘dose’ whether you want it or not. Sounds Orwellian, but this is what has been going on in most of North America, Asia and the developing nations for many decades. The ethics of medicating individuals without their express consent is not dubious, it is downright vile. Note: Most of Europe has rejected the practice of water fluoridation.

Fluoride is a hazardous poison (more toxic than lead) not a prescription for good health!

Fluoride Accumulates In Human Tissue

A part of the problem with fluoride is not just in the toxicity of it, but also the levels of exposure that people receive from multiple sources over the course of a lifetime. There is fluoridation of drinking water, fluoride in toothpaste and other dental products, yet there are even more sources of fluoride exposure that you may not be aware of. We will review ten common sources of fluoride exposure in the second part of this 2 part article.

Only 50% of the fluoride we ingest each day is excreted through the kidneys, the remainder accumulates in our bones, pineal gland, and other tissues. If the kidney is damaged, fluoride accumulation will increase.

Fluoride Is Not An Essential Nutrient

Some scientists maintain that there is an optimal level of fluoridation for water. A level at which, people will (miraculously) not be harmed and yet they will receive the so-called dental benefits. The reality is that people’s exposure levels to fluoride will vary widely, based upon diet, lifestyle, geographic location and many other factors, so how scientists have settled upon this ‘magical’ optimal number defies credulity. The entire endeavour of fluoridating the public has been ill conceived from the outset, that is, if you are looking at it in terms of the public good.

No Disease Has Ever Been Linked To A Fluoride DeficiencyFluoride in Toothpaste

There are no benefits, dental or otherwise from fluoride; there are only undeniable connections to a multitude of health problems. (You can find out more about the health problems associated with fluoride in the second video below.) It is bewildering that the large and credible body of scientific research continues to be ignored by governments, and medical associations.

Not only do they choose to be blind to the research, but they also continue to publish and disseminate the same old invalidated data to the public. Contrary to the misinformation, your dental health does not benefit from a daily dose of this poison that accumulates in human tissue.

“In the past, political pressures have led government agencies to drag their feet on regulating asbestos, benzene, DDT, PCBs, tetraethyl lead, tobacco and dioxins. With fluoridation we have had a fifty year delay.”

Dr. Paul Connett, Professor of Chemistry, St. Lawrence University, NY

Dr. Connett goes on to say that since government officials have spent so much time and money defending fluoridation, they fear the surge of public mistrust that will follow when they finally admit that fluoridation has caused an increase in hip fractures, arthritis, bone cancer, brain disorders and thyroid problems.

However, this is exactly what we must demand of them – accountability. Governments and the WHO (World Health Organization) must finally admit that the decision to push water fluoridation upon the public is unethical and not based on credible science.

Dr. Connett concludes by saying that governments must adopt the ‘Precautionary Principle’, which simply means this: if in doubt, leave it out. This is the principle that most European countries have adopted. Incidentally, most European countries do not fluoridate the water supply and their rates of dental caries have steadily dropped.

“In most European countries, where community water fluoridation has never been adopted, a substantial decline in caries prevalence has been reported in the last decades, with reductions in lifetime caries experience exceeding 75%.”

This concludes part one of Water Fluoridation – Drugging The Public. In part two we will bring awareness to ten sources of fluoride exposure, some of which may surprise you. We will also present ten easily implemented solutions to minimize your exposure to fluoride and protect yourself and your loved ones.

Highly recommended viewing. Very informative videos.

In this first video Dr. Bill Osmunson D.D.S. discusses why after 25 years in practice, he is no longer in favour of water fluoridation.

In this second video, several several doctors and researchers discuss the medical research on fluoridation. Included in the discussion is arthritis, hypothyroidism, lowering of IQ’s, osteoporosis, skeletal fluorosis, and dental fluorosis. Also discussed is the source for the fluoride that is being used in drinking water.
